To me, GMMA is a community of fellow brothers and sisters who strive to be faithful in building God’s kingdom whether that looks like going on missions trips, serving the local community, or building up other members of the body of Christ. I was initially interested because I wanted to see how my faith could fit into my profession, especially as an aspiring physician. However, I learned that it should not be how I could fit Christ into my life but how I can build my life on Christ. Through great mentorship I have learned that everything I do can be done for the glory of God and Cornell GMMA is one way in which I believe we can glorify God together.”

“I’m so thankful because through GMMA, I have found a community of people who want to intentionally and actively pursue after God. I hope and pray that as His disciples, we can grow in having missional hearts and minds as we fall deeper in love with Him. The past few years have really taught me that no matter what fears, worries, or doubts I may have regarding uncertainties in my life, I can place my confidence in God, trusting that He will use me for His glory.”

To me, GMMA is a family that helps support and grow together. Through GMMA, I was able to meet fellow brothers and sisters who share the same passion of wanting to serve Christ while also maintaining my interest in helping through the healthcare field. I was able to meet incredibly encouraging and inspiring mentors, have fellowship and pray with so many loving brothers and sisters, and encounter God’s love and presence with such joy that I never have before. Cornell GMMA is still growing, but we would love to continue the race and pursuit of Christ with you!”

To me, GMMA is a unique opportunity to grow not only in my passion for medicine but also in my faith. I believe that at the heart of both, there’s a desire to serve others- and it’s been amazing to have such a welcoming family on campus that is eager to help not only through missions abroad, but also right here in our local communities. Though I have no idea what adventures God has in store for this upcoming year, I’m super excited to share this leg of my journey with anyone who finds our Cornell chapter!”

“Being a part of GMMA is such a precious and blessed experience that I wish for everyone. GMMA is a community of mentors and peers who are all so passionate about pursuing Christ, living with a missional mindset for people overseas and locally. Through GMMA, I have been further moved to use my life and my profession for Him, even if I don’t plan on going into medicine directly! GMMA has shown me how mighty God is and how much he loves and desires to use us, and I am excited to see how He moves in my life as well as those of my brothers and sisters.”

“I joined GMMA after I determined I would not only use my profession just as a means of making a living, but also making a difference in this world. Through its mentors and mission trips, GMMA showed me what it means to take a profession and utilize it to glorify God by making a change in others’ lives – however big or small the impact may be. Overall, I look forward to serving in GMMA this year by working with like-minded individuals who also have a desire to serve His kingdom through their professions in the future.”

GMMA to me is a response to Lord Jesus’ Great Commission to His people. It’s a ministry that seeks to sharpen its members through the Word, the Christ-centered community, and the Christian healthcare professionals resolved to love and mentor. It will challenge your notion of a missional life and seek to show you the life-giving joy that is in a life spent under God’s leading and with a faith placed in Jesus Messiah. We’re super excited to obey the call of Christ alongside you guys!”
