I’ve been thinking a lot about the legal side of AI-modified images lately, especially tools that can significantly change how a person looks. What worries me isn’t the tech itself, but responsibility. If someone uploads a photo they don’t fully own the rights to, or edits an image of a real person without consent, who’s actually liable? The user, the platform, or both? I work with digital content sometimes, and contracts usually lag behind technology, so I’m curious how others here see this playing out in real life.

This is a real concern, and I’ve run into it from a practical angle. I help moderate a small creative community, and we’ve already had disputes where people used AI-modified images of models or influencers without permission. The law isn’t very clear yet, especially across different countries. In most cases, responsibility still falls on the user, but platforms are starting to protect themselves with strict terms. Tools like clothoff usually state that you must have rights and consent before uploading anything, which makes sense legally, but many users don’t read that stuff. From what I’ve seen, problems start when AI output is shared publicly or monetized. Private experimentation rarely causes issues, but once it’s online, copyright, privacy, and even defamation laws can kick in fast. My advice: treat AI edits the same way you’d treat Photoshop work involving real people.
